Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 1, 2026

This policy describes what information is handled when you read expologistica.org, how the operator uses it and what choices you have. The operator is the person or organisation running the publication, and we and us mean the operator.

Visit logs

The servers that deliver Expologistica keep ordinary logs. An entry can include your IP address, the time of the request, the page asked for, your browser and device type and the referring page. We use them to keep articles about logistics, Panama and trade shows available, to find faults and to block abuse, out of a legitimate interest in running a secure site.

Cookies and similar technology

The site may set a few cookies or similar storage needed for pages to display and work. Nothing beyond that is in place for tracking readers. If the site ever adds analytics, advertising or affiliate tracking, this policy will be updated before they start.

Browser controls and opt-out signals

You can block or delete cookies in your browser, browse privately or use tools that restrict tracking. If your browser sends a do-not-track or global privacy signal, we will honour it as an opt-out wherever the technology we use makes that possible.

Email you send us

When you write to [email protected], we receive your address and whatever you include, such as a correction about a port schedule or an exhibition deadline. We use it to answer you and to fix the article, because you asked and because a record of corrections is in our legitimate interest. Your note stays private: it is never sold, and it is quoted publicly only if you say yes.

Newsletters and forms

If the site offers a newsletter or a form, the details you type in are used only for that purpose, such as sending the issue you requested, on the basis of your consent. Each mailing will explain how to unsubscribe, and you may also ask us by email.

Outside providers

Delivering a website needs outside providers, chiefly hosting and content delivery. They receive technical data about visits so the pages reach you, under their own privacy notices. If the site embeds maps, videos or other external content, or later adds analytics, ads or affiliate networks, those providers may also see technical details of your visit.

Retention

Visit logs are kept only for a short rolling window before they are erased or boiled down to counts that identify nobody. Emails are kept while they help answer you, document a correction or meet a legal duty, and are deleted once that need ends.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask what personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, object to certain uses, ask for a copy or restrict processing. To make a request, email [email protected] and say what you want. Before acting we may ask for proof that the request really comes from you, and we will answer within the period set by the law that applies to you.

Withdrawing consent

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it whenever you like. The Cookie Policy page linked in the footer explains how to do that for cookies, and for anything else you can simply tell us by email.

Complaints to a regulator

If you think we have mishandled your information, you may complain to the data protection authority where you live if you are in the EU, EEA or UK, or to the OAIC if you are in Australia. You need not contact us first, though we would welcome the chance to put things right.

Children

Expologistica is aimed at adults working in or studying freight, exhibitions and Panama trade, not at under-13s. We do not set out to gather details from young people on expologistica.org. A parent who learns that a child has sent us a message can email us and ask for it to be deleted, and we will remove it.

Security

The site is served over encrypted connections, and access to the mailbox that receives reader email is kept to the operator. No system on the internet is perfectly safe, so we cannot guarantee that information sent to us will never be reached by someone else.

International transfers

Hosting and delivery providers can handle data in several countries, which can have different data protection rules from yours. A site about international trade will not surprise you by saying that data travels too, and we choose providers that apply safeguards where the law requires them.

Changes to this policy

This policy will be rewritten if our practices change, for instance if a newsletter, an embed or any tracking tool is added to the site. The effective date above shows when this version began.

Your consent and the regulator

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect anything done before. The cookie policy page lists every cookie this site sets and explains how to change your choice. Not satisfied with our answer? In the EU, EEA and UK you may complain to your data protection authority (the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK); in Australia, to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
